Fin Chaser 800HTWA - Hardtop Walk Around
We have been wanting to build something bigger for a while now, this being something around the 8m size bracket. After customer demand over the last few years, and with a vision of creating the ultimate 8m boat, we decided to build one for the owner Ross to use and test. Through hundreds of hours of design work, thousands of different ideas we created the Fin Chaser 800HTWA, This particular one we have built is an amphibious model, however, the 800’s will be available in both amphibious and non-amphibious, There are options for lock-up cabins along with an open cabin which we have opted for in this particular boat. We have included many of our great Fin Chaser features along with adding plenty more. We really wanted to create a boat that every part of was usable yet not compromised. We opted for a hardtop walk around, as most of you will know all of our boats have a generous front area that is perfect for fishing off, sunbathing or even dropping someone off onto the wharf. However, there is often not quite enough room in most boats to have the option of doing this. We have gone for a layout that is very similar to a lot of launches, a big bow area (6m2 to be exact) with high bow rails to ensure this area is a safe place for anyone. The 800HTWA has a really practical open plan layout, with plenty of room to move around along with being super comfortable and offering a generous amount of storage space. We have so many great features on this boat, you really have to see it to appreciate it. Some key pieces of innovation that set us apart from many others, we have a full-size cabin, full size bunks, huge foredeck and plenty of room out the back yet still offering plenty of room to walk around the boat safely.
The proven and successful FC700HTA hull was used as a starting point for the design of the FC800HTWA hull. The goal was to produce a hull with excellent deep-sea performance, superior handling, and ample room for interior comforts. The hull has a variable deadrise, starting at 21 degrees as measured at the stern and increasing to 40 degrees at the bow. This deeper Vee produces a soft and comfortable ride, especially in unfavourable ocean conditions. The hull has large reverse chines, measuring near 200mm at the widest point. These provide an outstanding amount of lift and ensure the hull stays level during any cornering manoeuvres.

The outboard pod has been eliminated from this design and the hull skins extended, giving the boat a true hull length of 8m. The extended plaining surface allows the hull to easily bare the weight of the Anura Kit, as well as countless interior extras. Seakeeper Rides have been recessed into the hull and transom; this innovative feature is a first for aluminium boat building.
The rear Anura legs have been shifted aft, mounted to the same 8mm transom plate as the powerful V10 425hp Mercury outboard. The additional room allows for a large walk-around boarding platform and side-entry boarding ladders, an essential for ease of access on and off the water.
The design features an elevated bow, which acts as a great casting platform and provides ample headroom in the cabin’s sleeping quarters. The considerable raised sheer line and accompanying extended gunwales result in a very dry boat. All spray and waves are directed downwards and away from the cabin and cockpit areas.

Some of the key features are
Mercury 425HP V10
Anura S30
16" Simrad EVO 4 with through-hull transducer and radar
Induction stove
Fridge
Fully usable transom with a cage and side ladders
